5 Ways to Increase Intuition

With our busy schedules and the fast-paced lives we lead, it's easy to find ourselves swept up in the demands of our day and left with little to no time or energy to hear and pay attention to the subtle whispers of our own intuition. Causing our own awareness to be drowned out by the drum of our day-to-day living.

Yet, activating our awareness and intuitive senses can be a powerful tool to help us navigate life's challenges. When we develop our ability to tune into our intuition regularly, we are more likely to have effective decision-making, more peace, and an overall deeper sense of connection to the world around us.

In this article, we'll explore five impactful ways to activate our awareness and use our intuition in our everyday lives.

1. Mindfulness Meditation:
Practice- Do mindfulness meditations daily by paying deliberate, non-judgmental attention to the present moment. This includes stopping what you are doing, taking deep breaths, thinking about the sensations of your body, while asking yourself reflective questions (Who, What, Where, Why, How, When).
Impact- Increases awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations. Over time, this heightened awareness leads to improved intuition and decision making.

2. Journaling and Reflection:
Practice- Write in a journal regularly, focusing on your thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
Impact- This process helps you reflect on experiences and understand your own patterns and tendencies. It can reveal personal insights and patterns that might not be easily seen otherwise.

3. Connect with Nature:
Practice- Spend time in nature settings. This could be as simple as taking a walk in the park or spending time in your garden.
Impact-Being in nature helps you disconnect from the constant stimuli of life and tune into your senses more. This leads to a deeper sense of awareness and intuition. Connecting our internal feelings to nature helps us see the natural links between ourselves and the elements.

4. Active Listening:
Practice- When participating in conversations, focus on being fully present and attentive. Avoid thinking about what you'll say next or what else is going on in your life and instead, truly listen to the speaker.
Impact- This type of listening not only strengthens your relationships but also allows you to pick up on subtle cues and information that you might miss otherwise.

5. Trust your Instincts and Gut Feelings:
Practice-Pay attention to your initial first reactions and feelings about situations or decisions before you think about them. Trust your instincts and take action based on them, even if they can't be immediately rationalized.
Impact- Intuition comes from a combination of subconscious processing, a connection with the universe, and past experiences. Trusting your gut feelings leads to more confident and successful decision making over the long run.
Remember that developing awareness and intuition is a journey that requires patience and consistent practice. It's important to be open to new experiences and to have a mindset of curiosity along with self-reflection. Each person may resonate more with certain practices, so finding what works best for each of us is both personal and unique to who we are.
